Keyfob will not arm the alarm
First, check if you are close enough to your caravan as the range of the keyfobs is 6M, and try moving closer. Second, check if the torch works; if not, the battery may be discharged and need replacing. Third, if the torch does work, check if the red light comes on when the arm/disarm button is pressed; in this case, the keyfob is likely faulty and should be replaced. Fourth, check if the other keyfob operates the alarm correctly. If the other keyfob also fails, confirm that the alarm has power by checking that the LCD screen on the alarm base unit is powered up if you have a charged leisure battery fitted. Ensure your alarm has power before trying the keyfob again. Finally, if the keyfob still doesn't operate the alarm, you will need to relearn the keyfobs using the relearn instructions found in the product page for the AS350 - Stinger Alarm System.DIY Safe

AS310/AS300 keyfob doesn't arm the alarm
Possible Cause: Out of range, discharged keyfob battery, faulty keyfob, lack of power to the alarm system, or unlinked/unlearned keyfob
First, check if you are within the 6M range of the caravan and move closer if necessary. Next, test if the torch works; if it does not, the battery may be discharged and need replacing. If the torch does work, check if the red light comes on when the arm/disarm button is pressed — if it does not, the keyfob is likely faulty and should be replaced. Test if the other keyfob operates the alarm correctly; if it does not, confirm that the alarm has power by checking if the green light comes on when you move around the van, and ensure power is available before trying the keyfob again. If the keyfob still doesn't operate the alarm, you will need to relearn the keyfobs by following the relearn instructions found in the product page for the AS300 - Stinger Alarm System.DIY Safe

Battery not holding charge or not charging
Check 12V supply to Alarm. Check charging current inline with 12V supply (0-550mA). Perform a hardware reset to force charge cycle, which requires a 30-hour charge cycle.DIY Safe
N/A
Low Battery
Possible Cause: Often caused by damaged/broken Battery Switch on "Green" PCB pre May 2012 systems.
For pre May 2012 systems with a Green PCB, check and repair or replace the damaged/broken Battery Switch. Note that this was fixed post May 2012 on "Blue" PCB with the switch relocated to the PCB.DIY Safe
N/A
Marker Lights not flashing on arm / disarm of system
Possible Cause: Generally no 12V supply to Alarm System (Swift - Check Fuse 12).
Check Fuse 12 (for Swift models). Test 12V supply by listening for Awning Relay Switch on activation.DIY Safe
N/A
Awning Light not operating
Possible Cause: No 12V supply to alarm system, or an internal fuse inline with the awning circuit on the alarm PCB.
Check that the awning light works manually. If it does not work manually, there is a problem with the circuit, not the alarm. If it works manually but not via the alarm, check the internal fuse inline with the awning circuit on the alarm PCB.DIY Safe
N/A
Key Fobs not working
Possible Cause: Flat torch battery in fob, or fobs lost from the system during a power issue (e.g. flattened leisure battery).
Check the battery (Torch). If fobs were lost from the system, attempt erase and re-learn of fobs.DIY Safe
N/A
Key fob Intermittent Operation
Possible Cause: Stuck rolling code operation or local interference from other wireless equipment.
Try a few more arm attempts. Perform a local interference check for other wireless equipment and turn off. Check green antenna cable is free from all other cables.DIY Safe
N/A
Instant Siren On Arming
Possible Cause: PIR Fault or PIR Cable Fault. Usually accompanied by 5 beeps on disarm.
Reconnect cable at both ends.DIY Safe
N/A
PIR False Alarming / Not operating
Possible Cause: Incorrect sensitivity setting for climate condition, direct sunlight to PIR, tracker unit installed close to alarm system, or protective film still on face of PIR.
Check sensitivity for climate condition. Check for direct sunlight to PIR. Check if tracker unit installed close to alarm system. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the face of the PIR.DIY Safe
C15
System does not operate when connected to 12V supply
Possible Cause: Batch issue with component C15, which leaks onto PCB.
Replace faulty capacitor C15 and clean PCB. If component-level repair is required, consult a specialist.DIY Check / Tech Fallback
N/A
Voltage Drop / Cold Weather False Alarms
Possible Cause: Fault Signal output to 0v connection. Fixed Post April 2011.
Apply Green Wire fix: establish a connection from Pin 6 Fault Signal output to 0v.DIY Safe
N/A
Lost Arm/Disarm Beeps
Possible Cause: Base unit software/hardware glitch.
Perform a hardware reset. If the fault re-occurs at a later date following a reset, the base unit should be replaced.DIY Safe

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I replace my AS210 or AS310 alarm?

The AS210 and AS310 are no longer manufactured and have been replaced with the AS350 Alarm System. An adapter has been made for the AS350 to make the legacy alarm system harness compatible with the new alarm system. To purchase a replacement, visit the AS350 Caravan Alarm page in the Sargent Shop. Click either the View Options button or scroll down to the Option heading, and select your caravan manufacturer from the following choices: Swift (2018 - Onwards), Swift (Pre 2018), Coachman or Lunar (2015 - Onwards), or Any other manufacturer (Retro-fit option). Note that the Swift (2018 - Onwards) option is compatible with the caravan's harness and doesn't require an adaptor. The make and age of your caravan determine the required adaptor: Type A (Coachman or Lunar) (AS310-C), Type B (Swift Pre 2018) (AS310-S/STL/STLI), or Type C (Aftermarket) (SAS200, AS200/210/300). For adaptor wiring diagrams, see the attached Installation Instructions.
